By now, one knows what they're in for with movies of this franchise before watching. After creating the original, which is somewhat of a classic of its generation, Bay established a target audience for these films, and caters completely to them.

And for this latest addition, he yet again delivers even more mayhem, this time with an even darker tone. Those who can enjoy a good effects-heavy popcorn-blockbuster should find this to be quite a spectacle, like its almost equally long predecessor.

Wahlberg also adds a lot of humor and is surprisingly convincing as a zany inventor and caring father. Tucci's hilariously insane character is also a major highlight of the film.
