Is it strange that this is the worst rated Transformer film, but I actually still think it was decent? Don't get me wrong it's not perfect (by far), but the movie itself is still better than the second film.

Don't expect anything different because this is still the same over the top Michael Bay directed blockbuster film. As long as you know what your getting yourself into before you come in (aka just don't think too much) you'll find that you can enjoy it.

This time around the film centers around a broke inventor named Cade Yeager (Mark Walhberg) and his daughter Tessa (Nicola Peltz). It's been 5 years since the events of the last film (Dark of the Moon, 2011).

The US government is hunting down Decepticons (and Autobots) using them to create a new material where they can create their own transformers. Cade finds a broken down truck and discovers it's actually the Autobot leader Optimus Prime.

Soon they find themselves on the run from the CIA. Cade and Tessa are joined by Tessa's surprise boyfriend Shane (Jack Reynor) an Irish rally car racer (getting random enough yet?). All three of them team up with Optimus who gathers the remaining Autobots to discover a plot involving the government, the Decepticons (Megatron?) and a bounty hunter named Lockdown.

The film also stars Stanley Tucci as Joshua Joyce, an inventor that discovers the use of the transformium, Kelsey Grammar as Harold Attinger the main villain who stops at nothing to end the Transformers.

I found the pacing (although this is the longest movie in the franchise so far) to be decent actually. Yes there are times when it's way over the top, but thats expected from this franchise. There actually aren't as many Transformers this time around, but I felt like it helps.

We get to know Optimus' new crew much better. John Goodman as the weapon specialist Hound is one of the better Autobots (to me). Overall, the cast does well. Mark Wahlberg definitely brings more action than Shia LaBeouf did (all Shia did was run a lot cry and scream.

..). Tessa although very nice to look at isn't utilized that well as is her boyfriend Shane. They start out strong, but then kind of get caught up with following Cade around. You know what your getting with this film.

If your a fan of the previous ones take a look. Other people who didn't like the last two or three...just skip it!
