Review of Transformers: Age of Extinction (2014) by Mateo F — 15 Mar 2015
Now this franchise has officially gone too far, but unfortunately it's something Bay can drag on for ever. This is the stupidest and most confusing of the films to date, and it's a wonder why he thinks it's a good idea to make more.
Teens still save the planet, in car chases against the CIA and robots, and basically every other situation. Earth now makes it's own robots, out of the special metal of dead aliens, and it moves around in the air and forms anything.
Off the scale of dumb. It may not make sense now, but if you watch this movie you will say, so they can do that but still can die from a gunshot? The event that killed the dinosaurs has been rewritten, (aliens did it) an we even get to see some fighting robot dinosaurs that breath fire.
.. If this doesn't define Michael Bay I don't know what does, but don't forget to add that the script sucks, acting is bland, story is really confusing, EXPLOSIONS, and how Bay got rid of the whole last group of actors and started from search.
The beginning we spend waiting for a character with a terrible jokes to die, then all sorts of crazy stuff happens and Prime gets captured. The one scene I did enjoy was when Prime is getting captured and the bad robot walks out I the mist in slow motion.
Confusing slow motion action explosions would be a very suitable way to describe this movie. I like Mark Walberg, he's a good actor and I like his stuff, this one doesn't fit him, he is way better than this.
Another thing I don't understand is why there is a alien gun that is small enough to be used by a human, and has some trigger that is useable by them, and somehow doesn't weigh 300 pounds. This whole review has been a ramble and doesn't flow at all, but fits the film it's meant for, and I think it's enough to get my message across.
There's simply too much to write about, if only Bay would read this and learn a bit.
