Review of Transformers: Age of Extinction (2014) by Julian H — 31 Oct 2015
Silly as ever, plot holes, continuity issues, duff editing, and some awful sequences that should have been cut out entirely - the film is certainly long enough to cull content. That said, better the last two, and a different feel to the previous films.
This film started off better than expected, but sadly went downhill rapidly. I wish somebody else other than Michael Bay would take on the franchise though... look at the great work Christopher Nolan done with Batman for example.
A huge amount is spent on making these films, but it's all frittered away in the directors quest for eye candy rather than something more meaningful. For fans of the original Transformers of the 1980s, they will understand this.
Everybody else will just associate the transformers films with a consistent shade of awful, and that's a shame.
