Review for Transformers: Age of Extinction?

Story.

This time, the movie is not about another invasion. This time, things getting a bit personal. To be honest, the story wasn't strong enough like the 1st movie. Had ups and down, and way too slow in the 1st 30 minutes. Yet, I really can't keep high hopes about the story since, it's the last thing we can expect from Michael Bay's Transformers movie franchise ( Except for the 1st one ). Yet it was interesting and got some cool new theories about the origin of the Cybertronians. Even though the movie had some cheesy moments and jokes, the humor in general in the movie was very impressive. Not gonna say about this topic due to spoilers.

Acting, Characters.

Got to say Autobots and Dicepticons had more character and were better in acting than humans. Human characters were not strong enough and I personally missed Sam Witwicky a lot. The chemistry and the human and robot relationship between Sam and Bee can't be replaced. That's something I missed a lot. Mark Wahlberg, Stanley Tucci and Kelsey Grammer were the only actors that actually did act. The rest were just below average. The character balancing of transformers were great except for Dinobots. Wish there was more screen-time for the Dinobots. They totally deserved that extra screen-time since they were that much awesome and one of the best things about the movie. Bumble Bee literally stole the show . When I saw the movie, every each time Bumble Bee do some stunt or action or even a joke, crowd went wild. Undoubtedly he's still the most fan favorite. The rest of the Autobots had their own unique presence from them, I really liked Drift, who is a Samurai and voiced by Ken Watanabe. Talking about Dicepticons, Lockdown was the main highlight. One of the most bad-ass villains I ever saw.

Visual Effects, Action, 3D.

Obviously the best thing about the whole movie. It was to top notch. The 3D models and the textures they used for the transformers were so realistic and almost life like. Facial expressions of all those CGI characters were amazing and at points, it was even better than some human actors. Action was great as usual and as usual had lots of explosions and robot battles which are totally entertaining. Got plenty of epic moments specially in the end. Robot battle were crafted decently and final battle was epic. And one of the greatest cinematography I've seen. The camera angles are unbelievably awesome. 3D pop-out effects and depth were so freaking awesome. A movie that meant ot be watched in 3D. Totally worth the money you pay. Pure eye candy.

Score.

It was quite impressive even not as epic as the score from the 1st movie. Moments which made the score as adaptions of " Battle Cry " were able to give me goosebumps. And also were the where they played the main theme music : Arrival to Earth " was something I surprised and it was epic.

Pros (+) and Cons (-).

+ Stunning visual effects.

+ Superb action sequences.

+ Transformers ( Both Autobots and Dicepticons ).

+ Battle Cry song by Imagine Dragons.

+ Cinematography.

- Poor and weak story.

- Most of human actors.

Final word.

If you liked the Bay's Transformers franchise, you'll love this movie. If you loved the 1st movie a lot and if the 3rd movie wasn't " that " bad, then you are in for a treat. If you hate the whole franchise, there's nothing much gonna change your opinion too cause there is nothing you are gonna see improved on the franchise except, Visual effects.

All I can say is, just don't hate a movie for the sake of hating. Watch first, judge after that. For me, the movie was really good. Better than expected except for the story. I honestly thought, the story would be much strong and interesting. The rest were better than I expected. Pure entertaining , visually stunning eye candy of 2 hours and 45 minutes. I know lot of people complained about the huge run-time. But honestly, It was not an issue to me. Time goes by even without you knowing it. This a movie which is worthy to watch in a theater and totally worth the money you pay.

As in a quick comparing of the each installment of the franchise, it'll be.

TF1 >>>>>>> TF4 >TF3 > TF2.

My rating - 6/10.
