I also saw Transformers yesterday and going in I was hoping that they'd retain some elements of the original cartoon. Coming out I wished it wasn't entirely exactly like the original cartoon.
It was fun, too long, of course and the special effects were awesome. But man was it cheesy. Pretty much all the way through. It may have been live action, but make no mistake, it's still a cartoon.
Some parts make no sense and the design of the robots make it difficult to tell what is actually going on sometimes.
