I was kind of pumped to see Transcendence, which can sometimes be a bad thing. In this case it was as I was disappointed in what I got. It's not bad by any means just not as amazing as I thought it could be.

Johnny Depp plays Will Caster an AI researcher, whose radical ideas gets him shot and eventually terminally ill. In order to be saved they try to download his consciousness into a computer. Depp ends up being limited to a small amount of time playing Caster and spending the rest of the movie as a face on a screen.

Paul Bettany and Morgan Freeman play fellow AI researches that eventually come to the conclusion that Caster's consciousness is too much of a danger to the world and seek to shut him down.

It's an okay Sci-Fi movie, but it ends up staying in one place and doesn't go anywhere like one might have expected of a "omniscient" AI to go.
