Review of Transcendence (2014) by Ki R — 20 Aug 2014
I'm quite surprised by the negative reviews on this. It could have been a little better crafted perhaps, but the concept was wonderful.
I think it did a fantastic job of showing the pathological nature of humans. Here they had a chance to embrace their own evolution and enter a utopian collective consciousness, but instead respond with fear and violence and trigger their own Armageddon and guaranteed continued misery and suffering.
It was heartbreaking and entirely accurate on that level.
Excellent film if you can see past its obvious flaws. Bring on the singularity!
