Review of Transcendence (2014) by Jackson C — 19 Jan 2015
Pretentious, and above all BORING. It does not understand science in general and computer science in particular. The acting is fine, and some of the shots are BEAUTIFUL to look at -- Pfister is Nolan's preferred cinematographer -- but the script is just dreadful.
Did I mention boring? Cuts which are meant to be artistic instead end up being confusing and pointless. It think it's telling a grand story when it doesn't even KNOW what message it's trying to send.
It's like a sermon that rambles on and on, and you think the preacher had a point but you have no idea what it was. AND BORING.
