Review of Transcendence (2014) by Xavier G — 02 Sep 2014
Certainly the movie has one of the most intriguing plots of the recent Sci-Fi movie history. Personally, I totally loved the movie. No sci-fi has ever made me so uncomfortable. It certainly got an air of spookiness, creepiness and mysteriousness.
At times the images are totally frightening than an actual horror movie. People who complaints about the lack of emotions and feelings in the movie has certainly missed this part, it is actually scarier than emotional.
And I can't stop thinking about the plot and the future of artificial intelligence as said by the movie. The plot is purely not fictional, technology of the same kind is under development today and it is only a matter of decades to achieve the same the movie focus on as far as I can comprehend from the various reviews and explanation found over the internet, which were obviously made by none other than people who has firm knowledge in the AI and scientific field.
I watched it under the prejudice that the movie worth shit and the reviews were appalling and everyone had an underrated opinion to give. Well, this is a must watch movie and as you know, if you are into technology and sci-fi you can't definitely miss this thing, seriously! I admire the work of first time director Wally Pfister and writer Jack Paglan.
I also loved watching Johnny Depp in his role of Dr. Will Caster. The movie is utterly undervalued by ignorant morons who indeed have no idea about what future technology and what hazard it could foster.
Inventive, insightful, intriguing, thought provoking, Transcendence is one of the best Sci-Fis of our age. The movie is totally unrecognized and it definitely deserves an appraisal and for its potential shall not be disregarded.
Kudos to director Wally Pfister, writer Paglen, Johnny Depp and personal favourites Cillian Murphy and Morgan freeman. Additionally I also enjoyed watching Paul Bettany in his role. I would recommend this movie to anybody who love flicks that makes you think and ponder, leave you to reason your own time and place, appreciate science and technology.
This is undeniably and irrefutably a movie that deserves serious consideration. I LOVE IT, TOTALLY.
