NY TImes called it Indie-earnest...I suppose it was - road trip and all. How odd then, that it's protagonist was strangely subdued, trying to blend into a life s[h]e wanted for her/himself, rather than defiantly pronounce free will, demand recognition and boldly drive off into the sunset.
Loved the treatment of transsexuality (so different from, say, Precscilla...).
