Review of Transamerica (2005) by Jonathan P — 19 Sep 2008
Funny without venturing into high camp, touching without becoming schmaltzy or condescending, Felicity Huffman was robbed of an Oscar, and Kevin Zegers provides an understated performance too.
The best part of the movie being you can watch it on two levels, as a comedy drama roadtrip movie, or scratching beneath the surface to tell you so much about the range of human lives in this crazy world.
The wonder of the movie is there is so much said without being said, the actors do more with a look than any part of the dialogue could ever try to do.
Demands constant re-watching, and the soundtrack is great too!
