Review of Transamerica (2005) by Sharon C — 15 Feb 2009
This is primarily worth seeing for Huffman's convincing and transformative role as a transgendered woman. It's a charming road movie too, with a rambling rhythm that allows you time to get to know the characters and settle into the story.
I felt it could have pushed certain aspects further. "The Road" is a big symbol in American lore, but it was never fully explored on a visual or metaphoric level.
