Review of Transamerica (2005) by Masorad ( — 20 Oct 2009
The most facile of genres, the road movie, is given a transgender twist with oddly ordinary results. Nascent F2M Huffman's transcontinental trip upends normalcy in every scene, but this understated and back-door American film attempts to localize normal in the individual, in individuality, and it's the hope of the filmmakers that the universal nature of each character's lot will resonate with a crowd of individuals.
