'Trans-America' is a very low budget, Indie film and a suspires hit as studio didnâ??t think many people would see or enjoy this film. This film is basically about a story of 'Bree', a transsexual woman (Felicity Huffman), who goes on a road trip with her long-lost son Toby (Kevin Zegers). The movie itself takes on big important thing in life of a world of transsexual lifestyle, the movie has won and been nominated for good and successful awards like; Nominated for 2 Oscars (Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role Felicity Huffman, which she should have won.), Critics Choice Award (nominated), Golden Globe (won Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Drama Felicity Huffman), while Dolly Parton has also so been nominated or won awards from the film, not for her acting for her song "Travelin' Thru". Tagline for this movie is "Life is more than the sum of its parts" good tagline for this type of movie, people will get it or they won't get it.

The movie is a emotionally rollercoaster ride with a tearjerker film, it got funny/weirdo moments, clever & witty, kind of a feel good movie (mostly at the end), is one of the best film you will see in 2005 & 2006, a touching/sweet movie, a great Road-Trip ride with fights and hugs along the way and having a terrific storyline/plot that will make you think about other people's lives. The film holds the title of one of the best transsexual's road trip ever made (in my eyes) and director/writer Duncan Tucker which he should a lot of powerful stuff to be court on camera and having a heart to show what it's really like to live like that and to be who you really want to be no matter what it takes. The film is never a dull moment and keeps your glued to the TV to really understand 'Bree' as the Adventure, Comedy and especial Drama is just bold and out there and really showing important of what human life is about for everyone, as being one of the best Independent film I've seen that decade (2000-2010).

The film was made on a budget of a very low $1 million which is really low for a 2005/2006 film, while grossing worldwide box office $15,151,744 which you make thing that not a lot, but on $1 million budget that is a huge hit, while the studio didn't think it would pass its budget as it was very limited and was a huge suspires hit worldwide at box office's. The film has been met with generally positive reviews from critics (as of praising Felicity Huffman performance in this tearjerker road movie), while audience and fans of either the movie, actor's or directors have been overwhelming positive response. The movie was distributed by an unknown at the time of its release, but has been notice since the film success which is The Weinstein Company & IFC Films (Also Pathe for UK and Eupnoea courtiers).

The cast are brilliantly talented and this film proves it by; Elizabeth Pena, Venida Evans, Kevin Zegers (with a brilliant first performance that I've seen him do), Felicity Huffman (with her Performance of her life as a man trued into a women she was fucking excellent as she is now know best for Desperate Housewives which I bloody love that show and she amazing in it and in this film) & the rest of the cast (One of the major themes of the film is the personal journey toward self-discovery of what Stan/Bree wants in life to be a women or look after his or hers son?- that the question of this film).

Overall in the end its turns out really good and a happy family true which this film is a genius way of looking at a transsexual lifestyle and what they go though. Felicity Huffman really should have one that Oscar for her wry performance is Oscar quality that really should have been hers, as of the film is a different must see/watch as is a truly masterpieces/epic film for its performance by a gem of cast's and for its genre/element. The film is super and its shines very well for a very low budget and limited cast and brings thought into nasty people about transsexuals and to understand of what GOD wants everyone to be them self, happy and carefree towards new life. Lv It!!
