Review of Transamerica (2005) by Rhys W — 10 Aug 2012
I really enjoyed this movie. Felicity Huffman is brilliant - such a brave woman to play this so convincingly as a woman who keeps a strong grip on being a "lady" she comes across as uptight and unforgiving.
But underneath is a gentle tenderness that she feels she cannot express as either a man (because she is trying to put that behind her) or a woman (because she is afraid of her actions being misconstrued).
All the while you are trying to imagine what life would be like if you were trapped in such a situation. Very thought provoking - and the guy was so good too - very believable mix of street-smarts and naivety.
