Review of Trance (2013) by Dave L — 08 Sep 2013
Danny Boyle is a talented director but here he is wrapped up in a B-rate movie plot. Simon (James McAvoy) is a fine art auctioneer and he joins forces with a gang to steal a Goya painting. After suffering a blow to the head, he cannot remember where the painting is located.
He goes to a hypnotist to try and remember. This is the setup for what becomes a rather erratic and unbelievable plot. So out there and crazy is this story that I'm sure it elicited plenty of eyerolls from those who have watched.
