Review of Traitor (2008) by Claire L — 23 Jul 2012
Oh, Don Cheadle.
I love your acting, but your movies are all over the place! "Talk To Me" was fantastic, and "Hotel Rwanda" was good enough to get you an oscar nomination... but everything else?
Don't get me wrong, "Traitor" was solid. The acting was great, and it was especially nice to see Guy Pearce in something again, but the problem here was the scope. Much like "Rendition" (Although, that movie was a piece of shit, unlike this one) "Traitor" tries to cover too much ground in being a commentary on both sides of the war on terror AND a taut political thriller with a twist. I don't know if I've ever seen a movie do both. "Syriana" maybe? I don't know. Anyway, this has to be my most rambley review yet. So in conclusion: Good, not great because of it being bloated with message and subtext.
Much like this review.
