Review of Traitor (1971) by Chris M — 14 Jul 2009
A perfectly acceptable movie with acceptable performances throughout. It does resemble films like Syriana, The Kingdom or Body of Lies in terms of balancing a fairly thoughtful exploration of Middle East politics with the basic tropes of the relevant genre (thriller, action movie etc).
Where this film failed a little in the comparison was the script, which was oddly enough too subtle to make its points and inadvertently came across as perhaps a little dull. A pretty good effort, but more than a little predictable and I've seen better.
