Trainwreck is the smash debut of Amy Schumer to the masses who both wrote and starred in this film that attempts to flip the formula of a commitment-phobic man and instead center on a woman who's proud of her detachment from romance.

..only thing they forgot to bring was laughs. Amy Schumer has been rising in popularity with her hit show, Inside Amy Schumer, but apart from a few crass line deliveries, I found her performance more grating than funny and her character is unbearable to say the least.

Following a character who lovingly sleeps around, drinks and does drugs at whim, is a complete asshole to anyone around her, and acts this immature was impossible to latch onto and though the movie wants us to dislike her, I can't see how any of the men even got past second base before bailing.

The shining light in the film is the supporting players like Tilda Swinton, Brie Larson, and of course Bill Hader, who isn't given much to do except react to the crazy situations she puts him in, but man is he trying and he scored a few laughs from me based on his body language alone.

Being a Judd Apatow film there is of course numerous meaningless cameos and while some work like an extended appearance from John Cena and Lebron James basically in a supporting role, cameos near the end like Mathew Broderick and Method Man are extremely pointless and don't get a laugh.

I seriously have no idea what I'm missing and why this film has been getting such rave reviews as it's a below-average comedy that barely got a laugh from me and as usual with an Apatow movie; it's too long and leans way too heavily on drama in the final act.

I admire the film's attempt to portray women in the same unflattering light as men can be in similar roles and it's attempt to be the next "Bridesmaids", but funny is funny, and this script's potential is squandered with lame, unflattering execution.

I did enjoy the last cheerleading scene; that was pretty cute!
