Review of Trainwreck (2015) by Justin B — 07 Mar 2016
I normally can't stand these type of movies, but this one seemed different so I wanted to give it a shot. It looked like it would be mocking corny romcoms.
Plus, I knew nothing about Amy Schumer.
It was just ok. I was mildly amused at a few points, but never really laughed at anything. I didn't really find her that funny at all. It always seemed like she was trying too hard to press the jokes. Especially the out of place, aren't we edgy, sexual ones.
She's a very plain looking woman, with an odd face, which is perfectly fine, but the movie treats her like she's hot stuff. She's not.
Bill Hader was an odd choice for her boyfriend, as he had to play it straight.
What the hell was Lebron James doing in this so much? A cameo is fine, but he kept showing back up! Weird.
Plus, the damn movie totally ends up being a typical cheesy romcom!
I should have know, as I didn't like Bridesmaids, and haven't liked much of anything from Judd Apatow.
Back to real movies.
