Review of Trainwreck (2015) by Brandon W — 14 Mar 2016
I didn't know anything about Amy Schumer when I saw the trailers for Trainwreck, and I was a bit worried at first that Judd Apatow wasn't the writer for the film. When I saw interviews of Amy Schumer, she was really funny which got my attention of her, especially when she's actually the writer for this movie which I'll give credit to her doing a big project.
Trainwreck is a hilarious film that I'm glad that Schumer is getting the attention here. I'm sure that the plot has been done before, but it felt fresh to me and the execution is really great and a bit different.
Amy Schumer is amazing as an actress, a writer, and can even have drama moments which were unexpected. Bill Hader is great in this, and his chemistry with Schumer is very relative and good. John Cena is really funny and it's a giant big step up when the last film I've seen him in, is Fred: The Movie.
LeBron James was a surprise to me as he's actually great in it and is really funny also. There are tons of funny moments, even some that most people didn't get like the Caligula which when I was watching it, barely any people laugh at that except for me as it probably may be that I heard of the movie which was a good joke and unexpected like some other moments in it.
The characters are entertaining to watch, and when I thought that the movie was getting to the point of being overlong, it creates a lot of jokes after that which made the film better. Trainwreck is way better and funnier then I thought would be and definitely made a star out of Amy Schumer.
