Review of Trainwreck (2015) by Scott W — 20 May 2016

I had forgotten that this was a Judd Apatow movie until the closing credits, but looking back it makes sense. It has a lot of hallmarks of Apatow movies. I'm not a fan of Amy Schumer, so my score may have been better with a different actress in the leading role.

I do like a lot of the supporting characters, which helped. Overall, I thought the first half was pretty funny. The scene with John Cena in the movie theater was hilarious. The second half isn't as strong.

It takes an emotional detour and turns into more of a formulaic romantic comedy. I would have liked to have seen more from people like Vanessa Bayer. She was very funny in the couple scenes she was in.
