Review of Trainwreck (2015) by Bill B — 09 Apr 2017
Amy Schumer's character is happily living her life of boozy one night stands until she meets and falls for Bill Hader's sports medicine expert she starts to rebel against the idea that monogamy is the worst thing to happen to anyone.
I enjoyed the film, but was mostly confused by other folks opinions of it, a lot of which included the idea that the film forces her into a different, more 'normal' mold to make her happy, and I just have to wonder if they'd rather the character continue boozing and sleeping around until her liver fell out or she died of some newly discovered loathsome sexually transmitted disease? I mean, I suppose one can fill their life with empty sex and bottles of vodka if that's their thing, but to take exception to the idea of someone finding love and peace with another human just feels like we're picking at something just to be picking at it.
Well worth a look, give ti a rental.
