Review of Trainwreck (2015) by Chris B — 20 May 2016
Have been looking forward to watching this film for a while and I felt upon watching it it was a bit of a mixed bag. The film goes against a lot of Rom Com preconceptions but by the end seems to revert straight back to these.
This is not to say the film wasn't enjoyable I just thought it didn't live up to the groundbreaking comedy it was supposed to be. Schumer is very good as the main lead and some good cameo performances from Lebron James and John Cena (who have some of the best parts in the film).
Where Schumer's character feels strong Hader's feels weak and underdeveloped , perhaps this follows the normal rom com tropes of one of the leads being a lesser character. Worth a watch but not one I would rush to watch again.
