Review of Trainspotting (1996) by Hamad S — 03 Jun 2012
Rewatching this film recently, made me realise what a singularly powerful film this was when it first came out and its lost little of its power and impact since then.
Great casting and characters who are all memorable in their own ways, the way that the film portrays the life of an addict through the highs and the lows is just immensely effective. Renton is a great anti hero and watching McGregor here made me remember quite how brilliant he can be when the mood takes him.
A true modern classic, Danny Boyle showed at a very early stage just how cutting a filmmaker he can be...
