Review of Trainspotting (1996) by Stephen E — 13 Jun 2012
Though "Trainspotting" isn't as brutal as it could have been, there are still a couple of instances that caused my stomach to turn. Yet despite these sickening moments, the film still works as a comedy.
It's funny, visually offbeat, and Ewan McGregor has a very wacked out and nuanced performance. The biggest mistake that "Trainspotting" makes is ditching its aimless nature for an average story line, but it's a mistake that can be forgiven.
