Review of Trainspotting (1996) by Alex S — 31 Jul 2013
Plenty of movies tackle drug use and show the negative effects of it, so Trainspotting wasn't all that original. It's intention was to be a dark comedy and at times it was funny, but often gross-out humor.
The script was completely unimaginative and consisted of only swear words.. When they weren't saying the most foul words in the English language, they were saying the most simple, clichéd statements ever.
There are certainly better movies that portray drug addiction just as well, if not better, than this.
