Trainspotting reaches out and grabs you in the opening scenes and doesn't let go until the final credits. The ability to show in a comedic yet thoughtful way the lengths to which a drug addict will go in order to satisfy his cravings isn't the easiest thing to do on screen.

The picture deftly illustrates the pain addiction causes family and the ones addicted. It's not an homage to drug addiction as much as it is a warning label. This well-written superbly-acted Scottish com-dram should be missed by nobody.
