Review of Trainspotting (1996) by Petros T — 13 Dec 2013
It starts of on the right foot: humorous, quick-paced and wacky. It's not before long, though, that the viewer's interest starts to wane, mostly due to the uninteresting characters: essentially, it's a film about a bunch of idiots doing drugs because they can't face reality, so when this lifestyle finally catches up with them (resulting, at least, in a very good scene in which Ewan McGregor excels), it's hardly a surprise, with Renton finally opting for the obvious, a drugs-free living.
