Review of Trainspotting (1996) by Amanda S — 14 Apr 2014
It's hard to picture a movie that mixes comedy with heroin addiction, but Danny Boyle pulls this off brilliantly. The cast is balanced with very defined characters that have contrasting roles. The movie is a bit hard to watch because it doesn't sugar coat the life of the addict, but it is handled in such a way that it never feels too dark or depressive.
A fine piece of filmmaking.
