Denzel gave one of the greatest performances of his career that got him the oscar. this was the first cop thriller that involved crooked cops and didnt just seem like they were making bad decisions. here you have a film it makes being a crooked cop not be so clear and how the lines are blurred between right and wrong when it comes to the law.
ethan hawke gave a good performance as well. the intensity of the film was delivered perfectly with action, drama, suspense, great plot twists, directed perfectly to appeal to all audiences and not just those that are cop movie junkies.
