Great movie here made even greater by the strength of Denzel Washington's actting as Alonzo. Ethan Hawke is sometimes helpless when it comes to Washington. The movie itself is gritty, violent, and very nasty.
Too bad Fuqua couldn't really follow this one up with anything of note.
