Review of Training Day (2001) by Mad M — 17 Dec 2017
In "Training Day," Denzel Washington is a force of nature. Every second he is on screen he is explosive and wildly compelling. It is a rare occurrence for playing a negative role, but I think this might be one of his best performances.
Ethan Hawke also does a good job portraying his character but it is tough to notice much when Washington is alongside him. The movie has a unique premise and a lot of different things happen. The movie builds up well and kept my interest.
I found myself on the edge of my seat and anxiously waiting for what would happen next. It certainly isn't a conventional action movie as it has many big ideas. If you're a fan of Denzel Washington, you can't miss this one.
