Review of Train to Busan (2016) by Jamie C — 12 Jun 2017
I love my Zombie movies and I can't believe I put off watching this for so long, I should of learned from The Raid and the REC films that subtitles do not spoil movies, This film is one a the best edge of your seat films of the year, It doesn't take long for it to start and when it does it hardly stops to breathe with some World War Z/ 28 Days Later type of Zombies running in hordes, Climbing over each other, Suicide diving through windows it's all amazing stuff, There's no real horror to be had nor any jump scares they rely on the fact that being trapped with zombies on a bullet train should scare you enough and it does, The claustrophobic scenes work so well, It's not short on some good little action scenes and some pretty good effects at times but they take a back seat in this film, With how fast paced the film was it made the emotional ending work that much better plus we had characters we connected with which helped an awful lot too, Don't let the subtitles put you off it's a great Zombie film that may not be the best in its genre but it's got to be part of the conversation.
