Review of Train to Busan (2016) by James K — 24 Sep 2016
A refreshing zombie movie depicting the horror of zombies hunting in packs, and that of fellow humans helping the zombies in order to survive. This is no longer a movie where zombies chase, and people run. It shows you zombies who were once your best friends and you now need to crush their skulls, zombies you may be ok to die with, and people who push other people to danger's way so they get a few solit seconds to escape unharmed.
This is still just a typical disaster movie after all. But a skillful one where you get to get familiar with the characters, to a state to even identify with some of them.
What triumps the will to live, is the deep desire for your loved ones to live on. We see two fathers, one rather negligent and the other yet to see his daughter, being unborn, sarcrificing with the hope, false or not , that their daughter would stay alive. It is quite touching.
