Review of Train to Busan (2016) by Rebecca S — 29 Sep 2016
A mother's bond starts when a baby is first conceived. But, a father's bond fulfills when he held the little one in his arms for the very first time. That conceives one of the most memorable scenes in Train To Busan. It was like a beautiful painting.
The entire 2 hours was simply a roller coaster ride of alternating between parent-child emotion stirring episodes & exhilarating thrill. It was both seat-gripping & soul touching - a very rare combo indeed. This definitely elevates the standards for zombie based movies.
The story was so beautifully told on how a father-daughter rediscovers love, putting an end to their estranged relationship in a train full of zombies...on her birthday. That was probably the best birthday gift any daughter could have received.
Despite all the thrill they put forward, they still found space to share out loud on some social messages. People usually notion that couples can divorce, but parents shouldn't. Because the kids will so often be sandwiched in between two different school of upbringing. Or sometimes we are so engrossed in chasing after our careers, that we forget to nourish family bonding & leave our kids neglected. These kids grow up remembering only how busy their parents were or how selfish they were. Kids learn not from what we tell them, but from what we show them.
One train, one danger, but many inspiring stories on family bonding & friendship that left me with tears...
