Review of Train to Busan (2016) by Cody Y — 01 Feb 2017
As a purely visceral experience, it is perfectly thrilling, but the subtle crimes from the writer's table come to head in the final act, failing to do justice to what could have been a crowning achievement to this horror renaissance emerging out of South Korea.
Bad aside, this movie has a consistent and refreshing tone, a brightness that sets it apart from the common, tacky midnight horror, and sound direction that almost compensates for its very basic and minor stumbling points.
