Review of Train to Busan (2016) by Peter C — 20 Apr 2018
I had seen so many glowing reviews for this movie, and even multiple sites rating it amongst the top 4 "Horror" films on Netflix. I had my doubts as soon as I saw that it was a zombie movie. Unless you have a SERIOUS phobia of zombies, this won't even register on a horror scale.
As I watched it, I felt more and more like Train to Busan was a mix between World War Z and Zombieland. I found it more humorous than scary, but after about the 3/4 mark, I began to understand the motive behind the film.
It felt like a story about the relationships, and a commentary on human nature in a different societal setting. The characters of the father and daughter were the only ones I remotely cared about. I enjoyed the movie overall, but probably won't be singing its praises.
Temper your expectations.
