In this Canadian based mockumentary, Julian (John Paul Tremblay), Ricky (Robb Wells) and Bubbles (Mike Smith) are just trying to make it another day in Sunnyvale Trailer Park by formulating ridiculous schemes to earn a buck or two. Much like the television series, the boys are up to no good looking for the ?big dirty?, the final illegal adventure to make quick money. This film is sure to keep you laughing through the white trash antics, originality and cinematography.

These three characters are an acquired taste, strictly for those who enjoy drug, alcohol and dirty jokes. Only ?grade 6? educated, Ricky, Julian and Bubbles are at the bottom of the totem pole in life. That doesn?t stop these guys from enjoying life and working with what they have. Julian always has a mix drink in his hand, maybe to numb the pain of his stupidity or to facilitate the next moneymaking scheme. Ricky is always on the ?dope,? he can?t seem to get by without it. Then there?s Bubbles, the awkward, yet goofy cat lover. He?s always trying to keep the Ricky and Julian out of trouble but somehow finds a way to get suckered in.

The movie begins with Ricky, Julian and Bubbles out on their first ?job?, and by job I mean attempting to rob an ATM. The boys enlist the help of two, good for nothing air heads, Cory (Cory Bowles) and Trevor (Michael Jackson). Naturally, the gang finds a way to screw it up, and I mean big time. Never mind the fact that Ricky?s car, more like metal holding on for dear life with a couple doors missing, rolled into the store and set an alarm off for the police. Luckily, these uneducated men are smart enough to realize to get the hell out of dodge, but not before Ricky grabs all the cigarettes from the store because ?they are free?.

This beginning scene only scratches the surface for how the rest of the tasteless, but yet hilarious movie has to offer. In the eyes Ricky, Trevor and Cory are good for one thing and one thing only, smokes. One of Ricky?s infamous lines is when he repeatedly double finger snaps at the duo and says, ?Smokes, let?s go?. One of the great parts of this film, which also carries over to the other movies and television series, is the repetitive use of one-liners. It?s never over the top and always very subtle.

There?s not a scene that goes by where you don?t believe you?re not actually watching all of this hysterical nonsense unravel. It?s as if a camera crew is following them around and sometimes getting engrossed in the trailer park shenanigans. At points, the cast members will talk directly to the cameras. It?s very obvious that this is a low budget production but it works seamlessly with the context of the film. I think this type of filming style is essential in the success of the film.

This film is for those who enjoy dry comedy with a touch or two of crude humor. As an avid Trailer Park Boys viewer, this movie reminds me of an extended episode of the gem-like trash television series, with all the heart, profanity and stupidity one would expect. There?s hardly, if ever a dull moment or scene not worth laughing at. Trailer Park Boys: The Movie is a true comedic adventure.
