Review of Trailer Park Boys: Countdown to Liquor Day (2009) by Max R — 26 Dec 2009
5 Second Review: So those Trailer Park Boys are back, but watching their latest, and allegedly last, film you can't help but get the feeling that they don't really want to be. Everyone involved seems just a little bored, almost as if they are merely going through the motions here, and that anarchic energy and comedic chaos that marked TPB at it's peak seems to have now been sadly replaced by repetitious schtick instead.
Sure, most of the ingredients are still here, but they feel well past their use by date, and the whole thing comes across as a bit flat, and, more shockingly, somewhat dull as a result. There is still some fun to be had here, and fans will still want to hang out with the boys one last time, but afterwards you can't help but think that the glory days really are behind them, and that their last hurrah was, unfortunately, more whimper than roar.
