Review of Trailer Park Boys: Countdown to Liquor Day (2009) by Dustin G — 03 Aug 2010
I don't remember the first Trailer Park movie enough to make the inevitable comparisons of which is better and why so instead I'll just say that this one is fantastic. Hilarious all the way through, an epic (well, for the Trailer Park Boys) storyline, a lot of fun and a surprising new element for the show, a kind of thread o sadness running through it, a longing for better things and a time if reflection for Ricky and Julien. This new element has the potential of not working in so many ways, but it does and it adds sympathy to the humour. I liked that.
It has its flaws and is not a perfect movie in any sense of the word, but it's a great entry and a pretty fitting swansong to the end of the show all things considered.
