Review of Trail of the Pink Panther (1982) by Bill T — 01 May 2008
Odd little trivial movie here. Mostly trivial because of course, it "stars" Peter Sellers as Closeau, even though he was dead at the time.(MGM got sued by Seller's estate for their troubles) Made of course, with cutting room floor scenes from other PP movies, and then mostly filler about the dissapearance of Closeau (with flashback scenes to flesh the movie out) this is a very curious movie.
I have no idea WHY they had to make this movie, but they did, and it's a perfectly banal waste of time on everyone's part. Poor David Niven has his final role here. He was too ill to speak, so they had Rich Little dub his voice.
Poor Poor David Niven. The only bright spot of this was the sheep dog trained to move the old woman around, which was very very funny. Other than that.
