I think this film gets an unfair rap because the good inspector is hardly in it. They could have gone Game of Death à la Bruce Lee, but instead chose to rewrite into something very clever. If you sit back and try to think of it as a panther -not Clouseau- film, you will surely enjoy this installment that has an international flavour, all of Brooks' fantastic writing, and yes, even some Clouseauesque slapstick charm.
