Trading Places is an 80s classic showing off Eddie Murphy's prime, along with John Landis' humorous genius. It is a simple movie with a simple plot, however, there is so much charm, it is nearly impossible to not fall in love with the final product.
It has subtlety, it has absurdity, slap-stick, it even breaks the fourth wall, but it doesn't matter, because it all works with such a perfectly measured scoop of taste. It is a light and entertaining movie, fit for all purposes.
