Review of Toys (1966) by Kit H — 22 Apr 2012
This film wasn't really targeted at any particular audience and seems to have lost something because of that, however, it is still a pretty tight film. The plot is coherent, the message is poignant (albeit somewhat exaggerated) and the acting is great. People's hearts are too cold and contemporary and perhaps past notions of 'maturity' seems to have ruined capacities to enjoy purely for the fun of things.
This is a film for 12 year olds and up and hasn't been marketed as such, but it does work, it makes good points, has decent character development and is generally a very good film that still bears considerable relevance.
