Review of Toy Story 2 (1999) by Guido S — 29 Nov 2013
Toy Story 2 is one of those rare movies that succeeds as a sequel and in many ways, surpasses the original. The gang's all back for a new adventure, and this time it's Woody who needs rescuing. Between the gorgeous animation, top notch cast and thoroughly engaging story, how could you not fall in love with Pixar's wildly successful franchise? As a guy who grew up in the late 80's and early 90's, action figures and toys hold a special place in my heart. And Toy Story 2 tugs at my heartstrings like no other film can.
Definitely one of my desert island 5 films, Toy Story 2 will make you laugh, cry, and cheer, all in the span of an hour and a half. I will always be grateful to Disney and Pixar for helping to create a series of movies that I will be passing along to future generations. Enjoy, but don't forget to bring a tissue (Jessie's song will absolutely make you cry).
