Review of Toy Story (1995) by Dave M — 11 Feb 2013
What is everyone's deal with these movies? They're good but dated (and I don't mean the animation). The jokes and story are too juvenile for my tastes. Of course when I was 11 years old and saw this in the theater I vowed to never tell anyone how its awsomeness made me shit my pants, but as I grew up its rewatchability lessened and its jokes became a childish routine cliche'.
Still entertaining and nostalgic, certainly ground-breaking in terms of animation, but this does not compare to the mature and meaningful storytelling of say, a Brad Bird production.
