Review of Toy Story (1995) by Luke N — 17 Sep 2013
Whenever Pixar releases its latest animation, you know it'll probably be awesome. That being said, I'm not mad on all their films. But for the most part, they have established and maintained their place as perhaps the most admirable animation company since the days of Walt Disney himself.
'Toy Story' was their original breakthrough, and not a shred of greatness has been lost since it first went into cinemas. While the sequel was great, and the third one just passable (yes, I just said that) this has always been the strongest for me.
The premise of a child's toys being alive was inventive enough, but then they added a much darker and exciting twist, by trapping those lovable toys in the scary house of the bully nextdoor. The story, the acting, the comedy, the music .
.. everything is just perfect, the work of indisputable genius. There have been many excellent Pixar films since this, but 'Toy Story' will never be pushed from the throne it created.
