Toy Story was released a mere sixteen months after I was born, so it became a major staple of my toddler and childhood. I can remember having at least three VHS copies because I couldn't stop watching this movie. The film has remained in my Top Ten throughout my life, and it always will. Even now, at five weeks shy of nineteen-years-old, I'm watching Toy Story on Blu-ray as I write this review.

Toy Story was the first feature-length film created entirely on computers, and no other film deserves that most prestigious honor. This classic perfectly exemplifies both a child's imagination and their love for their toys. But it also asks a completely original question: "Do toys love their kids?" Toy Story proves the answer is an outstanding "Yes!".

Toy Story follows Sheriff Woody, an old-fashioned pull string cowboy doll, and Buzz Lightyear, a newfangled toy that any boy would just die to have. When Woody becomes jealous of Andy's preference for Buzz, he decides to get rid of him, but unfortunately finds himself with far away from home, mere days before Andy and his mom are due to move into a new house. The two toys learn to love each other, becoming the incarnation of Randy Newman's iconic song, "You've Got a Friend in Me.".

Toy Story is a children's movie first, but has just enough to keep adults entertained as well. If you grew up with the story like I did, it's sure to be one of the first movies you'll share with your own kids someday, if not the very first.
